T he alt.fan.tolkien (AFT) and rec.arts.books.tolkien (RABT) newsgroups are proud to present to you this weekly series of discussion threads. The purpose is to inspire some Tolkien book-reading and discussion on a regular schedule, at a pace most people can manage, and at all levels of expertise from complete newbies to lifelong Tolkien experts. If you are new to these newsgroups, they are devoted to the books of J.R.R. Tolkien (and miscellaneous topics.) After the old location hosting the ‘Chapter of the Week’ web-file went off-line, the schedule has been managed for a period through postings to the newsgroups. This was, however, not a satisfying solution in the long term, and I (Troels Forchhammer) have therefore, on the kind suggestion from Huan the Hound, found a new resting place.
Enquiries regarding the schedule of the Tolkien usenet groups' (alt.fan.tolkien and rec.arts.books.tolkien) ‘Chapter of the
Week’ project should be directed to the groups, to Troels, ‘troelsfo’
at ‘gmail.com’, or to ‘aft-rabt’ at ‘silenceisdefeat.org’
(once I've found out how to do that easily, I will be checking that mail

S o , will this be the end? Will there be no more Chapters of the Week? Is this where the tireless posters of AFT and RABT will have to move on?

“So it seems,” he said. “But let us not be overthrown at the final test, who of old renounced the Movie and the Web. In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! we are not bound for ever to the Chapters of the Week, and beyond them is more than memory, Farewell!"
But who knows — I reckon there may be more chapters to fill the newsgroups ‘until the present mystery [has] been thoroughly discussed.’
